NAPLAN TESTS PREPARATION

National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is a national test held for all students in Australia in year 3, 5, 7 and 9. Exams are held every year in May.

The Literacy component assesses a student's capabilities in:

  • Language Conventions( spelling, grammar and punctuation)

  • Reading and Comprehension

  • Writing

The Numeracy component evaluates a child's skills in:

  • Numbers

  • Space & Geometry

  • Measurement, Chance & Data

  • Patterns & Algebra

Questions are either multiple-choice or require a short written response. The genre of the Writing task has changed to a persuasive style of writing from 2011.

Individual student performance on each test is shown on national achievement scales from Year 3 to Year 9.

The tests identify particular areas of concern or weakness in both literacy and numeracy.

Tests results allow students to compare their level of understanding with students across the nation at their year level.

Our NAPLAN preparation techniques help students familiarise themselves with the style and format of the NAPLAN exam, thereby increasing their confidence and performance. We offer exam tips, techniques and practise sessions to help students maximise their test marks and overall self esteem.
